What data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how to opt out.
We collect basic analytics (which pages you visited, roughly where in the world you came from, what device you used). We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party tracking ads. If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email is stored with our newsletter provider (Beehiiv) so we can send you the newsletter. That's it.
ModernEarner is an editorial publication operated under the ModernEarner brand. Founded May 2026 by Donn Rapatalo, who serves as data controller for the purposes of GDPR (EU readers) and the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173, Philippine readers). The publication is contactable at hello@modernearner.com. You can also reach us through the contact page.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read, how long they stay, and which countries our readers come from. GA4 is configured with IP anonymization on. We do not use Google Ads, AdSense, or remarketing on this site.
If you subscribe via the newsletter form on the homepage, your email address is sent to Beehiiv (our newsletter provider). Beehiiv stores it under their privacy policy. We use it only to send you the ModernEarner newsletter. You can unsubscribe from any email or by emailing us directly.
If you email us at hello@modernearner.com, the message is delivered to a Gmail-backed inbox we operate. We use it only to reply to you. We do not add your email to the newsletter unless you ask us to.
The only cookies we set are the ones Google Analytics needs to count unique visitors (_ga, _ga_*). They are first-party cookies, expire after 14 months, and contain a random identifier — not your name or email. You can decline analytics cookies via the consent banner at the bottom of the page, or by using your browser's "do not track" / private mode.
Some articles contain affiliate links. When you click one, the destination merchant may set their own cookies on their domain — that's outside our control and disclosed on every article that uses them. We never pass your email, name, or any identifying data to those merchants. See our Editorial Standards for the full affiliate disclosure.

You have the right to know what personal information we have, request deletion, and opt out of any "sale" of personal information. We don't sell personal information. To make a request, email hello@modernearner.com.
You have the right to be informed, to object, to access, to correct, to data portability, and to file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission. Same email applies.
ModernEarner is intended for adults building income. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). If you believe a child has subscribed or contacted us, email us and we'll delete the record.
The site is hosted on Vercel (HTTPS-only, automatic TLS). Newsletter emails are stored with Beehiiv. Analytics data is stored with Google. We do not maintain our own user database. We can't lose data we don't store, but the providers we use are industry standard.
If we materially change what data we collect or how we use it (for example, when we eventually activate display advertising), we will update this page and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. Substantive changes get announced in the newsletter as well.
